English as a Second Language

Resources available to students and teachers in Henan are not the same as those in wealthier ares.  Since the summer of 2003, China Service Ventures has partnered with Xinyang Vocational Technical College to serve Chinese English teachers from local primary and middle schools. 

Some of these teachers may have only two years of college education and therefore their teaching techniques and English language ability may not be up to western standards.  We place a strong concentration on listening and pronunciation skills.  One of our many goals is to raise the level of English by Chinese English teachers so that they in turn can pass it on to their students.
