Stay Behind Program
This program was established to help rural elementary and middle school students whose parents have left home to work in large cities, and have literally left their children behind. In spite of the care of relatives, they frequently experience a lack of nurture and adequate oversight. They are in need of help. CSV provides scholarships to some students, and also offers important educational programs in these rural schools. From time to time, medical care, clothing, and bedding are also provided.
We have hired a local worker to look after this program and develop monthly programs for the children. She also recruits and trains college-age volunteers to work with the children. CSV provides travel expenses for the volunteers, program materials, food costs, and the coordinator's salary.
