Tom Stertz President

Tom is the current president of CSV . Part of Tom's responsibilities prior to his retirement from the University of Minnesota involved developing graduate programs in vocational education to be offered in China. He also served as advisor to several Chinese students at the university. Tom has frequently traveled to China on CSV sponsored tours and as an organizational ambassador. 


 

Sonja Hinderlie, Vice President

Sonja Hinderlie is Vice president of CSV.  In 2010, Sonja and her husband Johan visited China and felt called to serve with China Service Ventures.  After two years as Executive Coordinator, she now serves voluntarily as the Vice President. She has three sons, three granddaughters and lives in Robbinsdale, MN. 


 

Dr. Jeff & Mim Nellermoe, Executive Director

The Nellermoes live part-time in Xinyang and direct our local educational and training efforts.  They train and coach our China Staff for CSV's Representative Office.   Jeff and Mim have extensive experience in education, coaching/training, outdoor education, and adventure sports.  


 

Paul Martinson, Co-founder

Paul V. Martinson was born in China. After serving in Hong Kong he studied at the University of Chicago and taught students for 29 years before retirement in 2001. He and his wife Ida, along with Paul Ofstedal and Charlotte and Milo Gronseth, founded CSV.  He served as Vice President of CSV for ten years.


 

Ida Martinson, Co-founder

Ida M Martinson married Paul Martinson in 1962 and studied Chinese at Yale, in Taiwan and NaiKai University in China. Ida is a nurse and has her PhD in Physiology who worked at the University of Minnesota, UCSF and was Head of Nursing at The Hong Kong. Polytechnic University before retirement. She has been active in CSV from the beginning helping to tell others of the exciting work in China.


 

Charlotte Gronseth, Co-founder

Born in China, much of Charlotte Martinson Gronseth's life has centered on China and her people.

Back in the Twin Cities, she served students from China and also with CSV.  She's often returned to China.  She has three children and lives in St. Paul, MN.
